National Trauma Registry of Iran

Currently, trauma is one of the most important causes of death in our country. It will not be possible to establish a comprehensive system of prevention, care, and treatment in trauma patients without access to an accurate system of recording accidents and injuries and recognizing the epidemiological features of patients. In countries with trauma systems, planning is based on information from trauma patients. Therefore, there is a need to set up a comprehensive system for collecting and recording information about trauma patients, which can be used to assess the current situation of trauma patients, how to perform the treatment and diagnostic procedures, and the outcome of patients at the time of discharge. The responsibility of the National Trauma Registration system of Iran in 2014 was assigned to Sina Trauma and Surgery Research Center by the Research Deputy of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education.
